The introduction of detergents to the European Union market entails compliance with the requirements of Regulation (EC) No. 648/2004 on detergents. These regulations set forth key obligations regarding the composition, labeling, biodegradability and availability of information of this particular group of products. For detergents, in addition to the safety data sheet, there is also a requirement to prepare additional documentation necessary for their marketing. Obligations related to the preparation of detergent documentation apply to all European Union member states where the product is placed on the market. In addition, in the case of detergents classified as hazardous, it may be necessary to make a PCN (Poison Center Notification) and include a UFI number on the label.
Our detergent dossier development service includes full support in analyzing the composition, developing labels, preparing safety data sheets, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements within the European Union. Thanks to the experience of our experts, we guarantee the reliability and compliance of the documentation, which enables safe and legal marketing of detergents.

The price of a Safety Data Sheet compilation will always depend on several factors, including the type and number of Safety Data Sheets, the languages in which they are to be prepared, the complexity of the products and the deadline by which the Safety Data Sheets are needed. Our services are characterized by an individual approach to the client and this is also reflected in our price structure.
In addition to the standard labeling elements of the CLP regulation, the detergent label will also include additional ingredient information in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 648/2004 based on an analysis of the product's composition, taking into account, among other things, the surfactants, fragrances or preservatives used. Where applicable, dosage information will also be required. The product label should also include the website address where the Ingredient Datasheet for the product can be found.
Detergents, like other chemical products marketed in the European Union, are subject to the CLP Regulation and the REACH Regulation. Thus, a safety data sheet and label will be required for them as standard, and for those detergents that will be classified as posing a risk to human health or due to their physicochemical properties, PCN notifications will also be required. For this group of products, however, there are also additional formal and documentation requirements under Regulation (EC) No. 648/2004,to include:
All of the above requirements must be met by any entity that wants to market detergents in the territory of the European Union.
According to Regulation (EC) No. 648/2004, a detergent is defined as "any substance or preparation containing soaps and/or other surfactants intended for washing and cleaning processes. Detergents may be in any form (liquid, powder, paste, bar, cake, moulded piece, shape, etc.) and marketed for or used in household, or institutional or industrial purposes."
In addition, the regulation also indicates that the following products should also be considered detergents:
Thus, the definition of detergent is broad and covers most products which application will be in any kind of cleaning or washing, whether in the household, in application to automobiles (automotive chemicals) or in industrial cleaning.
